Two tools for telling stories
At Incite we use two distinct tools for story-telling: the Pyramid and the Storyboard.
The Pyramid represents the logical structure of your argument – the facts at the base of the pyramids supporting the insights and conclusions above them, synthesised into a single ‘Governing Thought’ which sits at the top and directly answers the client’s original question.
But story-telling is more than just logic. Storyboarding how those facts and conclusions are presented can be the difference between dryly informative and persuasively engaging.

Translating a pyramid into a storyboard takes a bit of work.

Multiple stories can come from one pyramid. Use a Storyboard to lay out and optimise the narrative for different audiences and contexts.

We use this toolkit everyday at Incite and have trained clients from banks to bakers on their use. If you’d like to know more, get in touch on london@incite-global.com or on +44 (0)20 7438 4950.
