Sci Fi for Marketers

Science fiction writer Isaac Asimov wrote “It is easy to predict an automobile in 1880; it is very hard to predict a traffic problem.”

His point was that real foresight means looking beyond the obvious consequences of what we see happening in the world. Instead, system-based thinking encourages us to keep asking “… and then what?”.

In this webinar for AURA, we explored a systems-based approach to the future. We shared examples of unexpected winners and losers that system-based thinking helps to explain, and suggested a way for teams to apply system-based thinking to their own situation and get a little better at seeing the future.
